Have you ever driven through a suburb and noticed that all of the homes are exactly the same? That was the problem facing this Edinburgh, Scotland family whose suburban home was hopelessly unoriginal and hopelessly outdated. Built in the 1930s, the cookie cutter design no longer functioned for a modern family. The solution was to build an L-shaped, open plan extension to the back of the house that finally embraced the home’s beautiful backyard space and added a huge amount of natural light. The home now has a large glass wall that opens directly to a natural wood patio. The new addition is gorgeous, functional, and utterly unique. Check it out!
