Off-beat and non-traditional pumpkin decorating is huge this year. Perhaps the coolest and most impressive of all the new design ideas is the cross-stitch pumpkin. It’s a simple idea with really wonderful results. All you’ll need to do is print out a cool, Halloween-themed cross-stitch pattern, pin it to your pumpkin, drill a small hole in the corner of each square of the pattern, and then do the stitching! Once the pattern is off the pumpkin you’ll drill the holes all the way through to the inside of the pumpkin. Then you’ll thread through the holes to create ‘X’ patterns within each square. Cut the excess string and knot the ends inside the pumpkin. Voila! A beautiful and unique cross-stitched pumpkin that will really stand out on the block.
