How To Paint Over That Ugly ’70s Wood Paneling

If you have wood paneling anywhere in your home then you might feel like you’re stuck with it unless you’re willing to tear it out. And no, this isn’t the good type of modern wood paneling that we’re talking about. It’s the holdover from the ‘70s that looks super tacky. But there is hope! It’s actually not difficult to tackle a DIY project that allows you to paint right over that wood paneling and have it look as though it’s any other wall in your home. The key is to use Spackle to fill the vertical grooves of the wood, sand it down, and then use several layers of primer to smooth it all out. Once the stain of the wood paneling isn’t showing through the primer, go ahead and paint the walls as usual. Voila! Now you have a perfect wall and no one but you will ever know that it was covered in wood paneling! Check out the full guide in the article below!
