Having a big bathroom is a big plus. Unless of course you moved into a home with a big, ugly bathroom. Stuck with a tight budget and a big master bathroom to renovate, Gretchen knew she needed to be smart about her renovation project. The huge bathroom started out with stained carpeting (it’s unclear why anyone would put carpet in a bathroom to begin with), mismatched fixtures, and a nauseating wall color. The biggest expense was ripping up the carpet and replacing it with black slate tiles. Given her limited budget, Gretchen was forced to keep the rest of the furniture, but was able to afford buckets upon buckets of paint. She replaced the mint-colored walls with a striking, contrasting combination of white and black. She also added mirrors of different sizes over the vanity, which gives the area an eclectic, but classy look. See the finished product in the article below!
