Before you toss that old piece of laminate furniture you should know that there might be a way to save it with a little elbow grease and some imagination! For example, Mindi found herself stuck with an old laminate bookshelf that was on its last legs. The structure was solid, but the paint was peeling and it had some very obvious blemishes. Rather than ditching it she looked around her house to see where she could use this piece of furniture in a creative way. She found a spot under her window that would be perfect for it. Mindi took some recycled wood and created a new frame for the shelf and even added a new layer of stained wood on one of the lengths. Then she installed some wheels to raise it off the ground. The end result is amazing! Mindi thought outside the box and took a tall skinny shelf and made it into a beautiful, low, horizontal bookshelf with space for seating or home decor accents like plants.
