The long, dreary days of winter are slowly coming to an end, which means it’s time to bust out your cleaning supplies in preparation of spring cleaning! No matter how thorough you are there always seem to be spots in the home that you end up overlooking during the cleaning process. Make it your goal this year to give your home a real deep cleaning by making sure you clean these spots that typically fall through the cracks!
Your bathroom is a room that can get dirty quickly. Even if you scrub the toilet, bleach the tub, and scour the grout there might be one spot you’re forgetting to clean – the ceiling fan. Dust and grime can easily collect in the fan over time and it’s likely that you haven’t given the fan a thorough cleaning recently (if ever). Remove the fan grate and let it soak in soapy water while you take a vacuum to the fan itself. Your fan will even run better afterwards!
Speaking of fans, you should make sure that you’re cleaning off the top of all your ceiling fan blades. It’s obvious when a fan is due for a cleaning when you can see the dust starting to collect on the sides of the blades, but even fans that appear to be clean can be harboring some serious dust bunnies.
Your kitchen is full of cleaning tasks like the oven, counters, and flooring, but there are several other tasks that you should consider this year. For starters, after cleaning your stove top you should take a look up into the hood vent. You might be shocked by how much grease has collected inside. Give this a good scrubbing to have it looking like new! Give your appliances a good cleaning while you’re working on the kitchen. Coffee machines and espresso makers can be cleaned by sending a mixture of vinegar and water through them. Toasters end up collecting tons of crumbs so go ahead and pull out the tray at the bottom of your toaster and throw out all those built up bits of breakfast!
Spring cleaning is one of the most rewarding activities. Make sure that you feel completely satisfied this year by taking care of all these overlooked cleaning tasks! To see a complete list of places you need to clean, check out the link below!
