Admit it, your bedroom probably has at least a few articles of clothes scattered about the floor. It’s a perfectly normal habit, but it’s still one that we all feel pretty guilty about. It’s just hard to find the energy after a long day of work to properly put away all your clothing in the hamper. If this is sounding familiar and you’re wanting to make a change for the better then check out these great solutions to solving your ‘floordrobe’ problem!
Some habits die hard and that’s OK! If you know that you’re never going to be able to stop piling your clothes up on your floor then you can at least learn to concentrate them in one area. The perfect solution is to put a small, decorative chair in the corner of your room. Use this chair as the place where you dump all your clothes. A bench at the end of your bed or on a wall can work equally well. Perhaps a rustic trunk could do the trick, too! You’ll get your clothes off the floor, at least, and it’s possible that it could look stylish to boot!
It’s hard to make it all the way to the closet, open the door, and put your clothes where they belong, so eliminating the door might be all you need to do! Get rid of the closet door and your room will feel more spacious and might even get you to summon the energy to drop off your clothes in the hamper! You should also consider adding some hooks to your room so that items like towels, robes, and cardigans have a place to live that isn’t at your feet. Even adding some open shelving and a dresser system that doesn’t utilize drawers might be enough to help you combat your habits.
It’s not an easy habit to break, but you can certainly move in the right direction by trying out these techniques!
