Kitchens are one of the most high-use areas of the house. It’s important that you have enough space to move around and to perform all of the necessary kitchen tasks with ease. But what can you do if your kitchen doesn’t have a pantry? This is a tricky problem that takes some creative thinking to solve. However, with some out-of-the-box thinking you can create your own pantry that’s perfect for your space.
When in doubt, look to wire shelving! There’s a reason industrial kitchens use wire shelving for their storage needs. They’re minimalist, sturdy, and look great. Wire shelves are perfect because they have a small profile that is utilitarian and allows the design of the kitchen to shine through. For a different shelving style you can also try bookshelves! They come in a wider variety of styles so you might be able to find a look that better matches your kitchen. They provide all the storage you’d ever need.
You can also wardrobes or armoires as kitchen storage. They’ll be a bit bulkier due to having doors, but they can be a visually-interesting and useful solution for the space. For a similar idea you can also look to bathroom cabinets. They’re designed to be small and narrow, but their small build will also limit the amount of storage they provide.
If you’re really pressed for space then you might have to consider turning your kitchen drawers or cabinets into a pantry. It’s not an ideal solution, but you can still keep things organized with bins and labels. This will give it more of a pantry feel without seeming like you just crammed things into a drawer. Organization is essential for any type of pantry, but especially when having to resort to drawers and cabinets. But it can be done!
Not having a pantry is difficult, but if you put your mind to it then you’ll be able to find a solution that you love.
