Reconsidering DIY

To do it yourself or not to do it yourself: the eternal question. Balancing all aspects of your life can be a challenge in and of itself, so you have to be sure you’re willing to take on the commitment — or share the credit. Because you don’t remodel with the intent to take off in a year, you want something you’ll be comfortable with, and that you can really feel proud of. So don’t let pride get in your way if you find that an independent contractor works best for you!

Two important factors raised here are: check your address book and check your budget. Do you know anyone who can help you do it yourself, or are you going to rely more and more on internet DIY articles and waste time? If you can afford to invest in someone who knows what they’re doing, it may end up saving you in the long run.

Whether you already have your perfect home envisioned or you’ll need someone else to help you along the way, remodeling is not a task to be taken lightly — so don’t make the decision hastily!
