Have a tiny apartment? How about a really, really tiny apartment? If so, then you know how insanely difficult it is to have any sort of storage. That was certainly the case for Tesha, who lived in a 224 square foot apartment in New York. However, she managed to find lots of clever and unique ways to store all of her stuff. Here are some of her secrets!
Most small apartments have teeny tiny kitchens. The counter space is roughly the size of your cutting board. Tesha smartly chose to buy a rolling island that adds an entire new countertop while also adding a huge amount of storage. The unit blends perfectly into the rest of the home and looks as though it’s built-in. It also helps separate the kitchen from the living room. It’s an elegant solution that makes the whole room feel properly styled.
Tesha also discovered that pretty boxes were her best friend. Creating stacks of unique and interesting boxes throughout the house provides storage that doubles as decor. Shoe boxes and hat boxes are perfect for this. You can also choose the size of the boxes and the size of the stack so that they fit just about anywhere. She also knew that it was essential for every piece of furniture to have some type of additional storage. Furniture with drawers make a huge difference when space is at a premium! And when in doubt, think vertical! Shelves can add layers and layers of additional storage.
If you’re having a hard time fitting all your stuff into your small place then you’ll definitely want to follow Tesha’s example! Check out the photos of her apartment in the article below!
