New Orleans is a city that is looking for solutions to its housing problems. Hurricane Katrina left many parts of the city in rough shape and there were plenty of empty areas that weren’t being used for any real purpose. To mitigate some of these problems, a new housing movement has developed to build starter homes in unexpected places. For instance, the city now has a home that’s a mere ten feet wide throughout. What it lacks in width it makes up for in height. The home manages to be 40 feet tall with three floors and two bedrooms. The home is comprised of many modern elements like a concrete ground floor, natural wood on the upper floors, a natural wood deck, and the exterior of the home is corrugated metal. The inside feels surprisingly spacious with an open floor plan and tall ceilings. It’s a truly unique solution to a tough problem. Take the tour in the article below!
