You’ve never seen a dividing screen like this before. A small apartment in Sydney needed a solution for separating the dining room from the kitchen. The idea they decided on is remarkably sophisticated, yet incredibly simple. Two slatted wood panels were placed on tracks in the floor and ceiling to create a sliding screen in much the same way as the barn door trend. The gaps in the slats offer enough privacy to close off the kitchen when not in use, but are spacious enough to create a stunning, high style effect when hiding the kitchen. The surrounding walls are made of the same, natural wood, but in a vastly different presentation. The contrast is brilliant.
