There’s the homes that renovate a barn to become a modern home, and then there are the ones that renovate a barn to become a barn AND a modern home. This is the latter. Aptly named the Ten Barn Farm, the property really does have ten working barns along with several historic buildings (dating back to the 1790s). Restoring the property for a family with three adult children living with the parents posed a unique and fun challenge. The main task was building a living space for the parents in the loft above the goat barn. The designer, appreciating the history of the property, painstakingly salvaged as many pieces of the original materials as she could during the renovation and repurposed them in the final home. An old door became a headboard, barrel rings have a new life as chandeliers, and old beams are now a bunk room. The creativity and authenticity of the finished product is clear, and the result is staggeringly beautiful. Take a look at the amazing transformation!
