Bathroom Vanities 49 to 60 Inches

The 49 to 60 inch range is the doorway to real double-sink territory. The 60 inch vanity is one of the most requested widths for shared and primary baths, and at this size you finally get to choose between two basins or one statement single, with counter that feels genuinely generous either way. Most people in this range are looking at the 60 inch bathroom vanity, and for good reason.

Why 60 inches is the shared-bath favorite

Sixty inches is the first width where two sinks actually have room to breathe. Split a 60 inch top and each basin gets roughly 28 to 30 inches of deck, enough for a faucet and elbow room, which is why it's the go-to for couples and busy family baths. This is where double sink vanities earn their keep. If one person mostly uses the room, though, don't rule out a single basin at this width; you get a sweep of uninterrupted counter that a double simply can't match. The 54 inch option is the smart middle when 60 won't quite fit but you still want the wide look.

You'll find that middle ground in our BathGems 54 inch bathroom vanity collection, where every cabinet is a single sink that stands on the floor.

Plan the delivery, not just the wall

Pieces this size are heavy. A 60 inch vanity with a stone top can run 200 to 350 pounds crated, so this is a freight delivery to your curb and a two-person carry into the house. Measure the wall, but also measure the route: the doorway, the stairs, the turn into the bathroom. If you're going double, confirm your plumbing rough-in lines up with the two basin locations before the truck arrives, because moving supply lines after delivery is the kind of job that stalls a project for a week. When you're choosing between 54 and 60, line them up under bathroom vanities by size.

Getting the details right

Look for separate drawer banks on each side so two people aren't sharing one stack, and soft-close hardware throughout so the morning routine stays quiet. A honed stone top wears beautifully under daily use, and a warm wood base keeps a piece this size from feeling cold or clinical. Plan the mirror and lighting now, not later: over a 60 inch vanity, two mirrors centered on each sink (or one wide mirror) with sconces around 66 inches to center reads far more finished than a single small mirror floating in the middle. It's the detail that makes a big vanity look designed rather than just installed.

Going from one sink to two

If your bathroom is plumbed for a single sink and you want a double, plan for that conversion before you buy. A plumber needs to add a second set of supply lines and a second drain, tied into the existing stack, and that work is far easier before the vanity and top are sitting in place. Check the basin spacing on the product spec sheet too, since not every 60 inch top centers its sinks the same distance apart, and that spacing decides where your faucets, drains, and mirrors ultimately land. Getting it on paper first saves a return and a second plumber visit.
