Antique Bathroom Vanity

An antique bathroom vanity brings a little history into a new bathroom: old-world lines and a finish that looks collected rather than bought last week. Ours are newly made cabinets with vintage character, from Ambella Home and James Martin Vanities, priced from $1,599 to $6,480. Most come with a sink and a top, so the counter is settled before the plumber arrives.

You'll see the antique and vintage labels overlap here, and that's on purpose: they describe one group of cabinets. If you'd like something a little less ornate, our traditional bathroom vanity collection keeps the classic feel with simpler detail, and bathroom vanity styles shows every direction we carry side by side.

Vintage Bathroom Vanity Sizes, From Powder Room to Long Doubles

Widths run from a petite 22 inches up to 72, with 24, 27, 30, 36, 38, 40, 43, 48 and 60 inch pieces in between. Thirty-six inches is the width you'll see most often. The 22 to 30 inch cabinets can sit comfortably in a powder room, where one small piece gets to be the star.

Most of the collection is single sink. If you need two, the doubles come from James Martin, a 60 inch Lorelai and the 72 inch Brookfield, all in Black Onyx. It's a small group, so if a double is a must, start your search there.

Antique Vanity Finishes: Weathered Grey, Antique White and Warm Wood

The finish is where an antique vanity tells its story. You'll find soft, aged tones like Weathered Grey, Warm Grey, Antique White and French White, and warm woods like Pecan, Honey Oak, Walnut Stain and Whitewashed Oak. A few bolder turns round it out: Black Onyx, Glossy Black, Polar Blue and Stained Dark.

Marble is the countertop you'll see most, and we think a little stone against an aged finish feels like it has always belonged. Quartz shows up too, though rarely. The lighter finishes read soft and calm, while Black Onyx and Glossy Black turn the vanity into the focal point of the room.

Traditional and Transitional Antique Bathroom Vanities

Most pieces lean traditional, which suits the look. Transitional, modern and shaker touches are mixed in, along with the odd fluted, reeded or rustic detail, so you can land a little classic or a little fresher depending on the rest of your house.

Ambella and James Martin Antique Vanities

The Ambella pieces carry names like Roman, Napoleon, Escher, Bamboo, Spindle, Delphi, Diamond, Orion, Isla, Seville, Laurel, Elsa and Hoxton. Each comes as one standard version rather than a long menu of tops, so you fall for the piece and that's the piece you get.

James Martin's Lorelai and Brookfield work the other way, with a range of tops to choose from: Eternal Jasmine Pearl Silestone, Ethereal Noctis Silestone, Parisien Bleu Silestone, Siberian Silestone, Tajnar Eclos, Victorian Silver Silestone and Carrara White Marble, with a Cabinet Only option on some. If you love this look but want it a touch more relaxed, a farmhouse bathroom vanity is the nearby style to explore next. Either way, we'd settle the width first, then let the finish make the call.
